About Network Speed Testing
An internet speed test measures the connection speed and quality of your connected device to the internet. It does this by running multiple consecutive tests that analyze different aspects of your network connection, namely download speed, upload speed, latency (ping), and jitter.
Key Network Metrics Explained
- Download Speed: How fast your connection can pull data from servers to your device. Measured in Megabits per second (Mbps).
- Upload Speed: How fast your connection can send data from your device to servers. Measured in Megabits per second (Mbps).
- Latency (Ping): The reaction time of your connection (measured in milliseconds).
- Jitter: The variance in latency measurements over time. Lower jitter is better.
